When Valley Kitchen expanded to their new Boardman location, I collaborated with Bliss 360 and designer Bobbi Mancino to engineer two distinct, large-scale physical brand assets for the interior space: a dimensional entrance sign and a backlit metal feature for the bar area.
The Challenge:
When Valley Kitchen expanded to their new Boardman location, they needed statement environmental branding that matched the premium interior build-out. The goal was to take their flat digital brand identity and engineer it into massive, large-scale physical signage for the entrance and bar areas.
The Execution:
Working internally with the Bliss 360 team alongside designer Bobbi Mancine, I handled the complete industrial fabrication of both signs—from the initial CAD programming to the final wall installation.
- The Walnut Entrance Sign: I CNC-routed the 59-inch main logo out of solid walnut butcher block. To achieve a perfectly clean “floating” effect, I milled custom hardware pockets into the back of the letters and paint-matched the aluminum mounting struts to the exact Sherwin Williams wall color so the mounting system virtually disappears.
- The Backlit Steel Bar Sign: I translated the secondary vector logo from Adobe Illustrator into Fusion 360, and cut it from 1/8″ hot-rolled steel using a CNC plasma table. To achieve the halo lighting effect, I integrated an app-controlled LED system. Instead of relying on cheap adhesives that fail over time, I actually CNC-milled custom magnetic wooden clips to securely route and hide all the LED wiring flush behind the steel face.
Deliverables:
Architectural Signage, CAD/CAM Engineering, CNC Plasma & Router Fabrication, LED Integration.
